Method
Cooking Pasta & Broccoli
- Boil the penne pasta in salted water until al dente. Add broccoli during the last 2 minutes of cooking, then drain and set aside.
Searing the Steak
- Season the steak pieces generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak bites for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and juicy, then remove and set aside.
Making the White Sauce
- In the same skillet, melt butter and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in heavy cream and whole milk, and let simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and silky. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
Combining Ingredients
- Add the cooked penne, broccoli, and seared steak back into the skillet. Toss gently until everything is coated in the creamy white sauce.
Serving
- Finish with extra parmesan and cracked black pepper before serving.
Notes
Let the steak rest a minute after searing so juices settle, and don't skimp on freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor.
