Ingredients

Pasta and Broccoli
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
Steak
  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt Salt
  • Black pepper Black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Sauce
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated parmesan
  • Red pepper flakes Optional: red pepper flakes
  • Black pepper extra black pepper to taste

Method

Cooking Pasta & Broccoli
  1. Boil the penne pasta in salted water until al dente. Add broccoli during the last 2 minutes of cooking, then drain and set aside.
Searing the Steak
  1. Season the steak pieces generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak bites for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and juicy, then remove and set aside.
Making the White Sauce
  1. In the same skillet, melt butter and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Stir in heavy cream and whole milk, and let simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and silky. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Add the cooked penne, broccoli, and seared steak back into the skillet. Toss gently until everything is coated in the creamy white sauce.
Serving
  1. Finish with extra parmesan and cracked black pepper before serving.

Notes

Let the steak rest a minute after searing so juices settle, and don't skimp on freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor.
