Method

Preparation
  1. Chill the cream cheese until firm.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, imitation crab, green onions, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Portion the mixture into small mounds, about the size of a large marble.
  4. Prepare the dough by rolling it out and cutting out squares or circles.
  5. Place a mound of filling in the center of each piece of dough.
  6. Seal the edges of the dough, ensuring a tight crimp to prevent leaks.
  7. Brush the tops with egg for a golden sheen.
Cooking
  1. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Alternatively, pan-fry in heated oil until crispy and golden.
  3. Ensure not to overcrowd the pan; fry in batches if necessary.

Notes

For a sweeter filling, consider adding a pinch of sugar to balance out the flavors of imitation crab. Quick sauces such as a soy-sweet dip elevate the dish.
