Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 packet instant yeast Trader Joe’s instant yeast is fine.
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Toppings
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, sliced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, then let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Spread the dough onto a greased baking sheet, creating dimples with your fingers.
  3. Mix the cream cheese with dill weed and garlic powder, then spread it over the dough.
  4. Scatter sliced dill pickles on top and sprinkle mozzarella cheese over it.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  6. Let it cool slightly, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For a more distributed pickle flavor, warm the pickles slightly in a pan. Do not skip making dimples in the dough, as they add personality.
