  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5-ounce)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5-ounce) Or substitute with another cream soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 box stuffing mix (6-ounce) Such as Stove Top
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Optional, for extra richness
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas Optional, for added texture and nutrition

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and milk. Add onion powder, garlic powder, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the greased baking dish.
Stuffing Preparation
  1. In a separate bowl, combine the stuffing mix and melted butter with the chicken broth.
  2. Spread the stuffing mixture over the chicken mixture in the baking dish. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Bake uncovered for about 35-40 minutes until bubbling and golden brown.
  2. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
