  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, steamed Frozen broccoli can be used for convenience.
  • 1 cup mayonnaise Can be swapped for Greek yogurt, but texture will differ.
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Aldi's cheddar is recommended for flavor and cost.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
Topping
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred) Panko gives a crunchier texture.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken and steamed broccoli, mixing them gently.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Pour the creamy mixture over the chicken and broccoli, folding carefully until well coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with olive oil, mixing until well coated.
  7. Evenly sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the chicken and broccoli in the baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the breadcrumbs.
  9. Optional: Sprinkle a little paprika over the cheese for color.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  2. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Broilers can be used to achieve extra browning on top; watch closely to avoid burning.
