Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless chicken thighs, skin on
  • 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Black pepper to taste A sprinkle, a dash, or a sprinkle-dash
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch For the glorious crunch
  • 1/4 cup oil For pan frying
  • 2 tbsp butter Adds rich flavor
  • 1 bulb garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (additional) Double down on flavor
  • 1 tbsp honey Sweetens the dish
  • Dried parsley for garnish Optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by prepping your chicken thighs. If they have bones, debone them carefully. Pat the thighs dry.
  2. Lightly score the thighs to help them cook evenly.
  3. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade. Marinate the chicken for at least 15 minutes.
  4. After marinating, coat each thigh in cornstarch.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a pan over low-medium heat. Place chicken thighs skin side down in the pan.
  2. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Once cooked, remove the chicken and pour out excess oil.
  4. Melt butter in the same pan, then add minced garlic. Cook until fragrant.
  5. Stir in honey and additional soy sauce, simmering until the sauce thickens before coating the chicken.

Notes

Make sure to serve fresh for optimal crispiness. You can adjust the honey for a spicier dish by adding hot sauce.
