  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Use sharp cheddar for more flavor.
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions Store-bought is fine.
  • to taste none salt and pepper
  • optional none garlic powder
  • optional none smoked paprika

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder or smoked paprika.
  3. Place chicken in a greased baking dish.
  4. Brush chicken with barbecue sauce and spoon ranch dressing over each breast.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar evenly on top.
Cooking
  1. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until chicken reaches 165°F internally and cheese is bubbly.
Finishing Touch
  1. Remove from oven and top each piece with crispy fried onions.
  2. Let rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Watch for the cheese to bubble; it adds a nice texture. Avoid overcooking the chicken to prevent drying.
