Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the creamed mixture.
- Stir in the oats and raisins until well combined.
Baking
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Underbake slightly for chewiness; overbake for a crunchier cookie. Let cookies set on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to avoid breaking.
