Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture alternately with milk.
- Fold in the chopped pecans.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the pecan praline topping over the batter.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
Use fresh baking powder for best results and remember to cool the cake before adding the praline topping to avoid a messy glaze.
