  • 2 cups long-grain white rice Rinse until water runs clear
  • 4 cups chicken broth Use low-sodium if preferred
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped For a sweeter flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds depth of flavor
  • 1 teaspoon paprika For smoky flavor
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season to preference

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
  2. In a large pot, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add the rice to the pot, stirring to coat in the oil and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly toasted.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and add paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  7. Fluff the rice with a fork, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with your favorite main course.

Notes

This rice is versatile and pairs well with many dishes. Feel free to adjust the seasoning based on the main course you are serving it with. Always use a decent chicken broth for best results.
