Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey with the chopped onion and minced garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and pepper.
Assembly
- Layer lasagna noodles in a baking dish. Add a layer of meat sauce, then ricotta mixture, followed by mozzarella.
- Repeat the layers until ingredients are used, finishing with noodles topped with mozzarella and Parmesan.
Baking
- Cover lasagna with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
Consider using fresh herbs for enhanced flavor. This recipe can be easily adapted for veggies by adding zucchini or mushrooms.
